Large shrubs or small trees, up to 5m tall.Branchlets terete, rugose.Leaves simple, alternate, distichous; petioles 0.3- 0.7 cm long; lamina 5-10 x 2-4 cm, ovate, lanceolate or elliptic-lanceolate, apex caudate-acuminate, base subcuneate, glabrous; secondary nerves ca. 6 pairs, not prominent; tertiary nerves reticulate.Flowers solitary, axillary or extra-axillary, purplish green; pedicels 0.5-1.0 cm long.Fruit and SeedClustered 1-2 seeded berries, globose or subglobose, apiculate, red.
